Cascina Bruciata
Cradled in the heart of the DOCG Barbaresco, in the exclusive Rio Sordo Cru growing area, is the family estate of Cascina Bruciata. The estate landed in the family of Carlo Balbo’s great grandfather in 1880 when jealous neighbors set the farm on fire (hence the name– Bruciata means “burned” in Italian) and the original owner sold the estate to his farm-hand. Today Carlo makes the wines following much of the committment to the land and winemaking style of his forefathers.
