Brooklyn Oenology

Brooklyn Oenology is headquartered on the edge of the Williamsburg and Greenpoint neighborhoods of Brooklyn and founded in the spirit of Brooklyn’s artisanal resurgence. Wines are produced by Alie Shaper at a host winery on the North Fork of Long Island and each bottle features artwork from a local Brooklyn artist. All labels peel back for safe-keeping. Social Club Chardonnay, New York

The civilized New York City cocktail party Chardonnay; loads of fruit–ripe mango and pear plus honeysuckle and pineapple; lush texture; medium bodied, just a touch of oak.

Oaked Chardonnay, North Fork, Long Island

An East Coast Chard for the California Chard drinker; rich and opulent with pineapple, orange blossom and green apple fruit laced with smoky oak, cinnamon and nutmeg; think of it as Burgundy meets New World; lush texture, medium bodied.

Cabernet Franc Rose, Finger Lakes

A beautiful dry rose that is reminiscent of those from the Loire Valley. Fresh and bright with notes of raspberry and strawberry plus a hint of citrus fruit. Pairs well with hors d’oeurves, sushi and other light fare.

Shindig Vidal Blanc, Finger Lakes

ZESTY! Crisp! The perfect sushi and ceviche sipper. SHINDIG White is a fresh blend of Vidal Blanc and Riesling and reminiscent of the great wines from the Basque Region of Spain or Italian Pinot Grigio. Amazing with raw oysters and other raw seafood. Blend crafted by DC-based Sommelier Andrew Stover and produced by Alie Shaper of Brooklyn Oenology.

Social Club Red Merlot/Cabernet, North Fork of Long Island

80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The civilized New York City cocktail party Merlot blend; loads of bright fruit–ripe cherry, red plum and blackberry intermingled with espresso, dark chocolate and black pepper; soft and silky finish. Perfect with braised meats or sipping solo.
